Reuben & Charlie; renewing vows

Close friends of mine renewed their vows in January of this year. The reception was held at there house here in Mesquite.

Charlie wanted a very modern cake in shades of red & gold with circles & butterflies. This is what we came up with...

I bought an inverted cake stand from Cake Stackers (click on for website). They have video's to help you and they will chat with you also. Very helpful and fun!

Butterflies and top pieces are made of Mexican Gumpaste and dusted with gold.

Cake flavors; bottom tier choco-latte with creme de mint and whipped ganache, middle tier was lemon with lemon buttercream and top was vanilla/almont with pistachio cannoli and vanilla buttercream in alternating layers. Cake was covered with homemade marshmellow fondant and painted red, beaded fondant ropes are attached to each teir with gold-yellow circles attached to each tier. I loved creating and making this cake.....my first inverted cake!! I was also very delighted when I delivered the cake it was the same color as Charlie's dress!! ; )

Chicken, Bacon, Avocado & Blue Cheese

A catered lunch for a good friend and repeat customer, Cindy Biskup, for twelve. She lives in Shadow Hawk in Mesquite, NV...

Rotisserie Chicken with bacon, avocado, roasted red peppers, blue cheese and a dijon/mayo dressing on ciabatta bread. I think next time it would be great if I toasted the bread and flattened it.....next time : )

Along side the sandwich is German Potatoe Salad and Vanilla Macarons.

Yummy.........not even sure what to name it....

Potatoes, Bacon, Dill, Parsley, Onions and homemade savory dressing

First try @ Macarons.....they look delicious (my opinion) : )

A little sexy....valentine's

A last minute wish to send a cake to Celece's boyfriend, who works at Conestoga Golf Course here in Mesquite, NV. She wanted to use a heart shaped cake and send me a picture of something she wanted me to recreate.

I've looked on the internet and don't know who to credit for the original......but thank you for the inspiration.

Cake flavor is Choco-latte with chocolate buttercream. Covered with nude, red and black fondant. Cake was delivered to the Conestoga Club House.

Happy Valentines Day to both of you !!

Homer & Duff

One of my best friends, Tesily, turned the BIG 40 this past week and her lovely husband, Ben, wanted me to make a special cake for her. Ben asked if I could do Homer Simpson with a Duff beer....so Tess : )

Cake flavors were Red Velvet with Maple/Cinnamon Creamcheese, Strawberry with strawberry buttercream & Vanilla/Almond with chocolate buttercream......a little bit of spin on the nostalgic napoleon flavors. Homer was made of modeling chocolate covered with fondant pieces.

Cake was delivered to McMullins Irish Pub in Las Vegas.

Happy Birthday Tess !!
